The focus of UM Labs is the delivery of a range of high quality VoIP perimeter security products. A series of product releases are planned through 2008 to address all markets from Branch Office and Small Business through Enterprise to Telco and Service Provider.

The entire product range is designed to deliver the level of security needed to run as dedicated VoIP security gateway at the network perimeter. The products may also be deployed within a protected network, separating VoIP traffic from sensitive sub-networks.

Each product is designed to secure VoIP, Video and other applications based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The security controls are grouped into 3 levels:

  • Network Level Security to protect against generic IP level threats
  • Application Level Security to protect against application and protocol specific threats such as call disruption, call flooding and call hijacking
  • Content Level Security to protect against threats such as call VoIP call eavesdropping and IM spam
In addition to these essential security features, each product in the range provides essential facilities for supporting and enabling VoIP connections. These facilities include Network Address Translation (NAT) and far-end NAT traversal.
